These Children's summer reading events are funded by the Friends of the J. V. Fletcher Library, Inc. and also through the generousity of the KDK Foundation (in honor of Kurt Kelly).  Your membership in the Friends of the J. V. Fletcher Library, Inc. makes these programs possible. YAY FRIENDS!

Rock, Roll, and READ! Magic Show with Mike Bent
Our summer reading program kicks off with our favorite magician Mike Bent. This book themed show uses hilarious comedy, amazing magic, games, music, sound effects, AND storytelling to motivate kids to get reading.

This free drop-in program is for ages 3-7.
Camp Read-A-Lot
Camp fire stories, singing, and dancing! Program takes place in the Story Hour Room.
Monday, July 2
1:00 p.m.
All ages. This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher library.

Giant Ballon Sculpture with Chip Rascal
Drop-in and watch award winning balloon sculptor Chip Rascal build a giant balloon scultpure and then take a memorable summer reading photo.

Mystery of the Golden Piano with the Sciencetellers
In this Wild West adventure story, volunteers from the audience will help explore the story along with the fascinating science. Don't miss this classic action-packed western with notes of science.

Lindsay and Her Puppet Pals
With giant puppets and marionettes, Linday's show is filled with silliness, crowd participation, and memorable characters. This series of positive short stories will delight the young and the young at heart!

Camp Read-A-Lot
Camp fire stories, singing, and dancing! Program takes place in the Story Hour Room.
Monday, July 16
10 a.m.
Registration is limited to 45 participants. Children in grades K-5 can register here.
Tickets ($2.00) for registrants and can be paid the day of the program. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Lego City Build with Jack the Lego Maniac
Jack will lead the build of a city made entirely from Legos. The Legos leave with Jack at the end of the program so bring your cameras!

11:30 a.m.
This free drop-in program is for all ages. Please bring a blanket and a picnic lunch. But if it rains, please eat before you come and the show will be in the Meeting Room.
Family Concert with Steve Blunt and Marty Kelley
Library favorite Steve Blunt and his pal, children's author Marty Kelley will be here for a high-energy family concert featuring catchy tunes and bouncy beats.

"Caps for Sale" with the Vermont PuppeTree Company
Based on the children's classic book, the PuppeTree celebrates diversity with a romp across seven different cultures, using a variety of puppets accompanied by a range of music from Estonia to Mumbai.

Outdoor Family Concert with Alastair Moock
Grammy nominated Alastair Moock delivers his original high-enery folk-rock music in his trademark raspy voice with foot-stomping American roots music.

Mike the Bubble Man
With bubbles choreographed to music and comedy, Mike explores the science and magic of bubbles in this energetic and fun-filled show.

Harry Potter's Birthday Party
An evening for the whole family celebrating the birthday of our favorite wizard! The night will include a sorting and wand ceremony, a quill craft, Quidditch, and other surprises. Costumes are STRONGLY suggested!

Toddlerbilly Family Concert with Matt Heaton
Matt's music is a mix of rockabilly, American roots, and Irish traditional music delivered with a sense of humor.

The Spoon Man
With spoons and music, Jim Cruise (the Spoon Man) does hilarious impressions, leads a sing-along competition, and creates a mountain band from the audience.

Tickets ($2.00) for children and adults are available by phone or in person. This program is for all ages.
A Royal Reception!
Three favorite princesses will tell their personal stories, sing favorite songs, and have their pictures taken with you! Come dressed as your favorite character - princesses are not required.
Thursday, August 9
1:30 p.m.
Cake at 1:30 p.m.; the performance begins at 2 p.m. and takes place outside on the back lawn by the parking lot.
This free drop-in program is for all ages. (If it rains, the concert will  be  in the Meeting Room.)
End of Summer Reading Bash with the Toe Jam Puppet Band
This will be a rollicking high energy show that you will not want to miss. Get ready for a bash of original music crammed with laughs and overflowing with fun. Bring a blanket and your dancing shoes and enjoy the fun outside at the side of the library.
