"Don't Bite Your Tongue: How to Foster Rewarding Relationships with Your Adult Children" Wednesday, February 17th at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room Author Dr. Ruth Nemzoff will discuss her book which counters the popular belief that parents must let go of their adult children and silence themselves. Dr. Ruth Nemzoff is a
resident scholar at Brandeis University's Women's Studies Research Center. She lectures on parenting adult children, relationships, and family dynamics. Her papers are archived at the Schlesinger Library at Harvard University where she holds a doctorate in social policy. She has served three terms in the New Hampshire legislature and was New Hampshire Deputy Commissioner of Health and Welfare. She is the mother of four adult children and lives in Newton with her husband, Harris Berman. Appropriate for ages 18 and up.

Musical Duo, Two Old Friends! Wednesday, March 3rd at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room Get an early start on your St. Patrick’s Day celebration! Back by popular demand, “Two Old Friends,” a duo consisting of Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins, regale audiences with traditional Irish, Scottish, and American folk songs. You will be tapping your toes and clapping your hands as Mac and Emery entertain you with their lively show.

The Adult Summer Reading Program begins on June 21, 2010! "Hands On, Books Open!" Do you think summer reading programs are just for kids? Adults get to join in the fun too! Your goal is up to you: choose to read 1, 3, 03 5 books this summer. Once you complete your goal, come to the Information/Reference desk and receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone at Kimball's Farm. Registered participants are automatically entered

"I Can Fix It-You Can Too: Personal and Practical Lessons from a Professional Handywoman" Wednesday, June 23 at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room Marie Leonard, author of "Marie's Home Improvement guide", will present a program on some of the lessons she has learned as a "do it yourselfer" and a professional handy woman. She will also share her some of her favorite tools and demonstrate some simple fixes.

Free Movie Screening of "Food, Inc." Wednesday, July 21st at 6:30 p.m. in the Meeting Room How much do we really know about the food we buy from the supermarket? Join us for a free public screening of the Oscar- nominated documentary film, "Food, Inc." which takes a provocative look at what we are eating and how it is
produced. "Food, Inc. exposes America's industrialized food system and its effect on our environment, health, economy, and worker's rights". This free, drop-in program is open to all ages.
Introduction to Calligraphy with instructor, Dimple Shah Wednesday, July 28th at 7 p.m. in the Mary Atwood Room This workshop is limited to 15 people (ages 13 and up) and registration is required. Materials will be provided. Learn the basics of Calligraphy, the ancient art of beautiful writing. Calligraphy styles of Gothic and Italic will be demonstrated. Use Calligraphy to make your own invitations, holiday greeting cards, or frame a poem. Use your imagination and the results are limitless. Bring along a smock or large shirt.

"Ditch the Junk Food!" Wednesday, August 25th at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room There is no question that junk food is addictive. Leslie Barnett , Ed.M. nutrition consultant will explain why we crave the foods we shouldn't eat and teach us simple steps to understand and eliminate cravings.
