What are Digital Audio Book Downloads?
Digital Downloads are an exciting new media available online from the J. V. Fletcher Library's website or from the online catalog. Essentially, you choose a digitized audio book title from the Overdrive database (provided to us by MVLC), download it to your PC and then you can either listen to it via your PC or a compatible* MP3 player. Most digital audio books can also be burned to CD's.
In order to enjoy remote access of digital audio book downloads, you will need:
-A valid J. V. Fletcher library card, or one issued by one of the participating MVLC libraries.
-A PC and access to the Internet (and email if you plan on placing holds on circulating items.)
-Free downloadable reader software.
NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE INCENTIVES: Patrons, we are pleased to announce that loan periods for digital downloads have been extended to 14 days from 7, and number of titles that can be checked out at any given time has been increased from 3 to 5!
*Unfortunately, Overdrive can only offer digital downloads to Windows supported formats, devices and computers.
**Please note that digital downloads can be enjoyed at home, at work, or when you travel, but cannot be downloaded or listened to from the computers at the J. V. Fletcher Library.
