      Penguins:Fascinating Facts and Tantalizing Trivia with The Penguin Lady

Do penguins have knees? How deep can they dive? How can penguins survive without eating for 3 or 4 months? Find out these answers and more during Dyan’s exciting program.  Presented in a game-show format, this interactive program will explore some of the commonly held myths about penguins. There will be penguin prizes, and everyone will learn how to make their own origami penguin. For ages 7-13; parent or caregiver must attend. Tickets ($2.00) for adults and children go on sale Monday, February 4.

Dan Grady's Marvelous Marionette Medley

Watch in amazement as Dan’s spectacular, hand-crafted, stringed puppets dance, sing, walk a tightrope, swing on a trapeze, and even rollerskate! For all ages; adults must attend. Tickets ($2.00) for adults and children go on sale Monday, February 4.

 

 

Thursday, the 21st

10 a.m. - noon in the Meeting Room

Drop-in Craft with Magic Nuudles

Create something fun out of Magic Nuudles.  Moisten and stick them together    to design a 3-D sculpture.  Non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and loads of fun. Note: permanent markers may be used. Please dress accordingly. This program is FREE and requires no registration. For ages 3 and up; siblings may attend. Parent or caregiver must attend

 

 

Thursday, the 21st

Matroyshka Nested Dolls Workshop

with Marina Forbes

Learn the rich folk tradition of Russian Matryoshka (wooden nesting doll) painting.  Everyone leaves the workshop having produced a finished piece of Russian folk art on wood.  Families are encouraged to work together but individuals are welcome.  This is a wonderful hands-on way to learn about a different culture.

Ages 9 through adult. Each participant will receive a $5 voucher towards the purchase of a pre-designed doll or nest of dolls. Prices range from $10 to $50. Each family will need to pay Marina with cash or check for their pre-designed nest of dolls when they arrive.

Registration opens Monday, Feb. 4th.
